Know about yourself:

You are a product, know how to sell yourself in the market.
Tell your features to the customer.
Know about your strengths and weaknesses.

STRENGTHS:

• Something which you want to do.
• Some thing which gives satisfaction.
• Something you learn very fast - Natural learning.
• Something that gives a feeling of Excellence / Achievement
• Something you consistently want to know more and excel or improve in it .

How To Find Your Strengths:

• Find what you enjoy doing.
• Believe you did well.
• Feel satisfaction.
• Take pride.

How To Identify Your Strengths:

Answer these questions to identify your strengths -
• How did I initially become involved?
• What did I do?
• How did I do it?
• What was especially enjoyable about doing it?

How To Develop Your Strengths:

• Choose one strength
• Excel in it

WEAKNESSES:

• Weakness is what you do not do well.
• Things you feel defensive about-you give excuses.
• You try hard to correct any behavior / skill.
• You have to work hard to learn.
• Feel loss of confidence and exhaustion in doing a thing.

How To Identify Your Weaknesses:

Answer these questions to identify your weaknesses –
• How long it took me to learn?
• What I did not like?
• Why I did not like it?
• How I felt after doing it?

How To Manage Your Weakness:

• Stop getting angry.
• Delegate your work to someone else if you can not do it.
• Think of the alternative ( if you are scared of meeting people take a career in finance , computer programming then on sales /marketing).
• Allow your strengths to overpower your weakness.
Do not spend time in making your weaknesses as strengths, just try to remove them.



SELF ESTEEM is -


  • Your own image in your eyes.
  • What you think about yourself.
  • Every individual is unique and has strengths and weaknesses
    • Awake and recognize your strengths. Have a positive self esteem about yourself.
  • Positive Self Esteem leads to Self confidence - to do any thing or everything you want to do.

Signs Of Low Self Esteem:

• Self depreciating statements.
• Negative self critical dialogue.
• Feeling inferior / inadequate.
• Comparing yourself with others.
• Giving negative mental messages (I am always making mistakes).
• Feeling uncomfortable in social situations and with friends.
• Need for approval -
. Seeking recognition from others.
. Depending on other’s opinion.
. Expecting mercy / sympathy to feel good.

Signs Of High Self Esteem:

• Proactive / positive attitude.
• Not scared of making mistakes.
• Ready to take risks.
• Focusing on your strengths.
• Beliefs and attitudes -
• You need not be perfect.
• Do not compare with others-you are unique.

Self Esteem leads to Assertiveness – the purpose is to:

• Maintain respect for self and other’s needs and rights.
• Keep communication lines open.
• Achieve goals.



Engage and develop human relationship.

Balance Your Rights and Rights Of Others:
If you only think of your rights you are aggressive.
If you think of only others’ rights you are nonassertive.

Assertiveness - the ability to express your thoughts and feelings in a way that clearly states your needs and keeps the lines of communication open with the other.
Be assertive in following situations:
• When you want/ do not want something
• When you are hurt
• When you are happy / angry
• When you want to give feedback
• In the face of criticism
• When you want to negotiate



You are what you always think about yourself!!!!

Every human has certain rights and along with the rights come responsibilities .

Right: To Be Treated With Respect.
Responsibility: To Respect The Rights Of Others.

Right: To Express Opinions And Feelings.
Responsibility: To Welcome The Opinions And Feelings Of Others.

Right: To Set Goals.
Responsibility: Help Others To Work To Their Goals And Objectives.

Right: To Refuse A Request Or Say ‘No’.
Responsibility : To Encourage Others To Use Their Time The Way That They Want.

Right: To Ask For What I Want.
Responsibility: To Encourage Others To Fulfill Their Needs.

Right: To Make Mistakes.
Responsibility: To Help Others Learn Through Their Mistakes So That They Can Grow.

Right: To Get What I Pay For.
Responsibility: To Give Best Value And Service For The Money And Rewards I Receive From Others.

Right: To Change My Mind.
Responsibility: To Help Others Reach Conclusions About Their Experiences Of The World.

Right: To Decide Whether Or Not To Assert Myself.
Responsibility: To Allow Others The Freedom To Choose How They Behave.
